With the starting of testing season (which runs from the end of March to the end of June!) stress is a constant presence for both staff and students. This month's issue of THE SPARK will focus on strategies to ease stress and support balance. For You Try a little mindful meditation! In this short (less than four minute video) Dr. Elisha Goldstein teaches us a short mindfulness practice called STOP (Stop, Take a breath, Observe body, feelings or mind and Proceed with what is most important.) Dr. Goldstein suggests we "sprinkle this practice throughout our day to break out of auto pilot, ground ourselves to the present moment and shift our attention to our intention." A large body of research supports the power of mindful meditation in relieving stress and anxiety. Try it HERE For Your Practice In "4 Stress Relievers That Give Me Energy In Class,"Sarah Brown Wessling, featured teacher on The Teaching Channel, shares four strategies for keeping herself resourceful and fueled to meet the demands of the classroom.
